Check Out these Modest Fashion Tips!!
So I have met several people recently who want to start dressing more modest, but they feel like they can't do so without losing their style. It can be done ladies! Try these tips for your everyday wardrobe and your fancy night out garb.
TIP # 1
We all know how hard it is to find undershirts that have a decent neckline. Next time you put on that undershirt that you have to constantly pull on, make the most of that opportunity. Add a pop of pattern or color with a funky scarf.
Just a little secret- Scarves can be worn year round.
TIP # 2
I have heard some people say they feel like they look HUGE when they completely cover up. This is far from the truth. Accenting your smaller areas with a statement piece is very flattering to the figure. If you have a small waist - wear a statement belt or sash to bring attention to the smallest area of your body and away from the areas you are self concsious about. If you have a large middle but small legs - wear loose flowing tops with a correct fitting pencil skirt and you will look thinner in an instant.
TIP # 3
You think it's too hot to wear a long skirt? NONSENSE! Maxi skirts are one of the coolest, most comfortable things you will ever put on. Throw on a solid cotton maxi with a cute patterned top or a patterned maxi with a solid cardigan. You will feel like you are in your PJ's, but you will look great!
TIP # 4
A couple of body type tips:
If you have large shoulders: Don't wear a bulky jacket with shaped shoulders in it. Keep your top flowy and simple.
If you are blessed and highly favored in the chest area: Peplums are probably a no-no. Make sure the waist on your top is slightly less fitted so you won't look even larger up top.
If you have a larger middle area: you can go with flowy, but it does get old quick. Wear a fitted top with a tailored jacket or vest over it. This will hide the belly you don't want anyone to see.
Big hips?: Straight skirts are not your enemy. Just be sure when you wear them that you hide the fitted hips with a cute long cardigan or flowy top.
Now, go to your wardrobe, play dress up, and be fierce with your new modest style. Check out these pictures below for some ideas.
