Catch That Runny Nose!

It really is the most wonderful time of the year, but... along with all this wonderful weather, fattening dishes at parties, and long hours of shopping, celebrating, and cooking, usually comes a lot of sickness.

Since we all know that we don't have time to be sick amongst the hustle and bustle, check out these cool tips to stay healthy and energized this holiday season.

Tip #1:

EMERGEN-C

This stuff is wonderful! If you don't have any, stop what you are doing and go stock up. You can find it at most pharmacies, including Walmart. Just pour one pouch in a little water once a day for maintaining health, or multiple times (3) a day for overcoming sickness

. It gives you your daily dose of vitamin C and comes in plenty of yummy flavors. I find these really convenient to throw a few in my purse, add it to a bottle of water, and take it wherever I am.

Tip #2:

Acidophilus and Echinecea

These are great probiotics to help you avoid that annoying, never ending cold. Acidophilus will even help you avoid viral infections if taken on a daily basis. Echinecea targets sinus and drainage, and will knock out your cough or cold quickly. These can also be found at most any pharmacy.

Tip #3:

Sore throat keeping you awake at night?? Try this homeade concoction to soothe your throat.

Ingredients:

Juice from 2 lemons

2 tsp Minced garlic (yes, minced garlic)

3 tbsp honey (raw is better)

6 oz. water

1/4 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar

Directions:

Add water, garlic, vinegar, and honey in a pot on the stove, juice the lemons and put the juice and the lemon rind in the mixture. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes. If you can handle drinking the minced garlic, pour straight into a cup and drink it. If you can't handle the chunks, just strain them out and drink the liquid. This will soothe your throat and help kick the junk out of your system.

Tip #4

THIEVES OIL

I don't know about you, but I can't stand that smell of lysol all over my house after somebody has been sick. The fix: Thieves oil! It is a natural germ killer and smells wonderful! Just get some organic thieves essential oil and put it in a diffuser and VOILA! Healthy and wonderful fragrance. You can also dilute the oil and rub it on doorknobs and other areas that may be contaminated.
